READING DAY CELEBRATION
English Department conducted various programmes related to the importance of reading on June 19th as a part of National Reading Day. The function was named as' Anagnosi 2k22', a Greek term for reading. Programme was started with reciting the prayer verses from Rabindranath Tagore's Gitanjali. It was followed by the thought which emphasized the life and significance of Ayyankali, a social reformer in the present day context. Then, news reading of the day was there. After that, a book review was there based on the novel 'Sold' by Patricia McCormick. It was followed by a quiz session to find out the best reader of the college. Miss. Aleena Aliyar was selected for the best reader prize. Then, the team presented a role play. It was a striking and surprising performance. A game session was also there which included a reading passage test based on TYPOGLYCEMIA and a treasure hunt. All the programmes were arranged in such a way that it created an awareness of the importance of reading among the audience.
