TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 2 REFLECTION

After a gap of one month, we returned back to the school on 3rd January 2023. It was very exciting to start a year as a teacher instead of a student. We could complete one lesson plan every day. Saturday was also a working day. Am taking the class charge of 9th standard. In the first day, we had to face some difficulty in managing children as they lost connection with us. In the coming days, we slowly started forming a good rapport with them and they continued to start responding well. Usually class starts at 10 am. We ensured to reach the school by 9:45 itself every day.

In the first day, by 9:45 all of our team gathered together and went to headmistress room for signing the daily attendance. This time, we have been provided with a new class to sit together. Last time the class was used by 8th standard students. As it was Tuesday, I was having the sixth period for class 9. The class contained both English and Malayalam medium students together. Most of the boys are hyper active in nature. Teachers used to instruct us to be strict with them to main the class decorum. Teaching English for such a class is not an easy task there. As it was the first day after a long time, I had to behave strictly with them to make them silent during the class.

In the second day, the schedule was as usual.

From the third day onwards, we started engaging in the midday meal programme. It was a joyful experience for all of us. All the teachers were very happy to adjust their classes for us. We felt that they started considering us their school colleagues. As a whole, the week was very useful for all of us.
