TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 9 REFLECTION

Day:

Date: 20/02/23 (Monday)

I arrived at the school this morning about 9:30. Before going to see the headmistress, my teammates and I welcomed each other and a few of my kids. We were all sad even though we were happy since the students and staff in the school was so attached to us because this week is our last week of working at this school. I then welcomed the headmistress and signed the registration after that. I was thrilled to have additional time to spend with my students after the headmistress provided us part of the free hours schedule during our day-long conversation. When the teacher of that class was on vacation, I engaged the eight students for the morning session and had to give them an orientation lesson. Later, in the afternoon, we all took part in lunch.

I attended the ninth-grade students during my sixth period, and they were delighted to see me. The students' attitudes had changed significantly; they began to study more and had demonstrated a greater interest in learning English. I finished one lesson plan for them and carried out some activities. Students also interacted and completed the activities. I was happy with the change in the students' attitudes. After my class, I sat in my room because I was exhausted and left the school at 3:45.

Day:

Date: 21/02/23 (Tuesday)

I had already arrived a little early at the school. Today's attendance included each of the 7 student faculty trainees. As our training days coming to a close, we are all a little heartbroken to leave the school. The students are becoming more and more devoted to us on a daily basis. I initiated myself to the headmistress and struck up a conversation with her. She asked me to teach a class on career guidance for ninth-grade students, and I was delighted to do so. She scheduled the third hour for me because it was a free period for them. I divided the class by giving them advice on how to study and how to grow in accordance with their goals. They engaged with me, and the lesson proceeded.

I taught the fifth hour class in the ninth standard during the afternoon session. I showed them the achievement test answers that I had recently graded and gave them a brief overview of how to do well in the board exams. The students then clarified any remaining issues, and I moved on to the lesson plan. Students today were really engaged in my class, which allowed me to finish my lesson plan. After class, I worked on our homework for the rest of the school day in the classroom before we all left at 3:45 p.m.

Day:

Date: 22/02/23 (Wednesday)

I arrived at the school at 9:45. We all welcomed one another when we arrived at the seats designated for us and met the other members of my team. After signing the attendance book and spending some time chatting with the headmistress, I went to my seat and began creating the day's lesson plan. Now that the first part of our training session is through, we all feel like the days are passing by so quickly. I then talked with my classmates during the morning session. By the afternoon, everyone had joined the noon meal programme, and I was overjoyed to be a part of it. Like usual, I was the one to take the initiative to serve the midday meal programme.

Today I had period in class 9 as per my timetable I had the 6th period, I had one lesson plan and after my class we had an interaction session asking them and offering recommendations, how to do well in the board exam. Other enthusiastic students offered suggestions as well. By 3:45 pm, the class was over. I left the school about 4:00 p.m. after sharing my experience from today with my co-workers.

Day:

Date: 23/02/23 (Thursday)

This morning, before the school prayer began, I got there at 9:30. The headmistresses were next met by my team and I, and we discussed the interactions and activities of the students with them. This week was also the last week of our first phase of training, so we all had a conversation about it with the headmistresses. We had decided to conduct an environmental preservation conscientization programme today, so we were all prepared for it. All of our hours were combined for the session because the programme was scheduled by the afternoon session. Thus, there was no class today. The first part of the introduction was done by me,I gave them a brief idea about the program and  the remainder was completed by my team members.

Following the event, the trainers, teachers, and support staff gathered for a quick get-together. We decided to offer everyone a small treat today as tomorrow was the 10th student's farewell, therefore the school had organised a farewell programme along with a lunch. As a result, we distributed sweets to all of the students. I was extra thrilled when the students at this point offered us some homemade crafts. We all shared our experience and happiness about the school and left the school by 3:45pm

Day:

Date: 24/02/23 (Friday)

We all arrived to the school by 9:30am because this was the last day of our first phase of training because there were a total of 6 teaching trainees. We greeted ourselves, signed the guest book, and then proceeded to our assigned seats. There was no class today because there was an official farewell party for the 10th-grade students. Parents, teachers, and students were all present. The students were overjoyed because it was their last day of school. The meeting began at 11:00 am and lasted until 1:15 pm. There were brief interactions between the parents and students during this time.

After the meeting, the school provided lunch for everyone, which we all enjoyed. The day went well; we were all content, and by the end, we shared our happiness with the teachers and the headmistress. We subsequently requested the opportunity to return to this school for the second phase of our training. Our headmistress concurred, and we eventually left the school around 3:45 p.m.
